Do the Bears have a QB Controversy?

After another strong performance by Josh McCown, I think it is finally safe to say the Bears of a QB Controversy brewing in Chicago.

Josh McCown is not playing like your typical back up quarterback. He is protecting the ball and managing the game but that is not all he is doing. McCown has a passer rating of 109, has thrown for 1,800 yards, 13 touchdowns, and only one interception through 7 games.

Cutler on the other hand has a passer rating of –, has thrown for 1,900 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions through 8 games. Al though to be fair Cutler has really only played in 7 games because of his injury in the game vs. Washington.

Numbers do not lie, Cutler has turned the ball over, McCown has not. McCown was threading the needle last night on his passes, and although he was playing a terrible Cowboys Defense, he stepped up in a game they needed to win in the national spotlight and took that game over. The Bears scored on every possession last night. If I’m Mark Trestman, I think you really need to consider starting McCown over Cutler.

What do you guys think? Do you put Cutler back in when he is healthy or do you roll with McCown?
